If you’ve pursued surgery, medication, or lifestyle changes — and still feel unsettled, ashamed, or disconnected from your body — this class is for you.
Obesity is not a personal failure.
Yet many people continue to carry deep self-blame, mistrust of their bodies, and emotional distress long after treatment begins.
This 4-week educational class is designed to help you understand obesity without shame by addressing both the biology of the disease and the psychological impact of weight stigma.
This class is based on the book Enough, but reading is not required. All material will be taught and guided during class.
What This Class Is (and Isn't)
-
✔️ Educational and supportive
✔️ Trauma-informed and shame-reducing
✔️ Rooted in science and compassion
❌ Not therapy
❌ Not a diet or behavior plan
❌ Not about “trying harder” -
You are welcome to listen, reflect, and learn at your own pace. Sharing is always optional.

Weekly Class Topics
Week 1 - You Are Not Broken | The Biology of Obesity
We’ll review key concepts from Enough, including genetics, hormones, set-point theory, and why traditional weight-loss approaches fail — not because of willpower, but because of biology.
Goal: reduce self-blame and increase understanding.
Week 2 - The Weight of Shame | The Psychological Impact of Weight Bias and Stigma
We’ll explore how weight stigma, medical bias, and internalized shame affect mental health, eating behaviors, and self-trust — often long after physical treatment begins.
Goal: name the hidden burden and understand its impact.
Week 3 - Living in a Body the World Judges | Identity, Grief, and Rebuilding Self-Trust
This session focuses on separating identity from diagnosis, processing grief, and learning how self-compassion supports accountability and long-term health.
Goal: restore self-worth beyond the scale.
Week 4 - Science Meets Humanity | Live Q&A with an Obesity Medicine Physician
A guided conversation and open Q&A addressing common fears, myths, and questions about obesity treatment, including bariatric surgery and GLP-1 medications.
Goal: clarity, validation, and confidence moving forward.
I typically price my multi-week classes significantly higher. However, this topic feels too important to keep behind a high financial barrier.
Shame thrives in isolation — and my goal with this class is to remove as many obstacles as possible so more people can access education, understanding, and relief.
